About the project

We are implementing changes on Waikomiti Street to enable safe access for rubbish trucks entering and exiting the Joint Ownership Access Lane (JOAL). Investigations identified that parked vehicles opposite the JOAL restrict turning movements on this narrow road, so broken yellow lines are planned at both locations.

The changes we’re making by June - July 2026

  • The changes we’re making by June-July 2026

    • Install No Stopping at All Times (broken yellow lines) opposite the JOAL entrance and exit to keep the turning area clear for rubbish trucks.

Benefits to your community:

  • Improved access for rubbish collection vehicles entering and exiting the JOAL.
  • Reduced risk of road blockages on a narrow street when vehicles park opposite key access points.

What happens next

  • Any changes to the plan will be updated on our website.
  • Installation of road markings will take one day in suitable weather conditions.
  • We understand this work may cause some inconvenience and will minimise disruption as much as possible while prioritising safety.
  • Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed.
