The Strand, Parnell - Paid Parking, No Stopping At All Times

Consultation has concluded

In response to requests from the community, we are proposing parking restrictions to improve parking availability along The Strand from #135 to #165.

Remove the broken yellow lines from the northern kerb and convert it into paid parking zone.
Introduce a paid parking zone across the on-street parking
The proposed cost for parking is $3.50 per hour for the first 2 hours, and $6 per hour after the first 2 hours.
The paid parking would only apply from Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm. Parking outside this time would be free.
Install broken yellow lines around the end of the cul-de-sac, and across the kerb ramp at the opposite end.

The removal of broken yellow lines will create approximately 13 parking spaces for the community.
The introduction of a paid parking zone will align with the rest of the area and will encourage a higher turnover of parked vehicles.
The additional broken yellow lines will ensure clear access for vehicles using the end of the road to turn around and exit.
