Two projects are planned on Scott Road: A new section of shared path, and new parking restrictions

New section of shared path on Scott Road outside Hobsonville Church

To make it easier for peope to walk or cycle around your area, we’re planning to build a new section of shared path along Scott Road, past the Hobsonville Church, where there is currently a gravel path.

The new section of shared path will connect the paths from the corner of Clark Road to the path outside the Ryman Retirement Village. These improvements are proposed to be delivered with other works on Scott Road, later in 2026

A drawing showing the details of the planned changes is available on this site to download.

If you have any questions or comments on the plans, please leave a comment at the bottom of this page or email us at ATEngagement@at.govt.nz (Reference: Scott Road shared path) by 30 August 2026.

Improving Safety on Scott Road, by Restricting Parking on the road

We are planning changes on Scott Road, Hobsonville to improve safety and traffic flow along this narrow section of road.

Scott Road is a narrow roadway, and parked vehicles currently make it difficult for drivers to pass through smoothly, particularly around the bend. This has created visibility and safety concerns for people driving, walking, and cycling.

To improve safety for everyone using this road, we are planning to keep this section clear and easier to drive through.

Changes are we making in October 2026:

  • Paint “No Stopping at All Times” (broken yellow lines) on Scott Road from [property number 84] through to Scott Point School to restrict parking and improve traffic movement.

A drawing showing the planned changes attached on right side of this page.

Benefits for your community:

These changes will:

  • Improve visibility and provide more space for drivers navigating the curve
  • Enhance safety for all road users, including people walking and cycling
  • Support smoother traffic flow on this narrow section of road

What happens next?

  • Any updates or changes to the plan will be published on our website
  • Road marking works will take approximately one day, subject to suitable weather conditions
  • We understand this work may cause some temporary inconvenience and will do our best to minimise disruption while prioritising safety
  • Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed
