About the project

We’re proposing to introduce time restrictions on some angled parking spaces on Purewa Road to better manage parking demand for residents, commuters, and visitors to the Ōrākei Basin and the Meadowbank train station.

Time‑limited parking helps encourage turnover and makes parking spaces available to more people throughout the day.

What we are proposing

We are proposing the following time restrictions on existing angled parking spaces:

  • Outside 3 Purewa Road

Introduce P120 (2-hour) time restrictions on 9 parking spaces, from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday. This will provide short-term paring to support leisure and recreational activities in the area.

  • Opposite 9 Purewa Road

Introduce P240 (4-hour) time restriction on 3 parking spaces, from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday. This will provide medium‑term parking to better support commuters.

Outside these hours, the spaces will be unrestricted parking.

Benefits and impacts

  • Providing a mix of short‑ and medium‑term parking to better meet different parking needs.
  • Helping balance parking demand for residents, commuters, and visitors to the area.
  • Improving access for people visiting the Ōrākei Basin and Meadowbank train station.

Additional information

The proposed P120 and P240 time restrictions are separate from the temporary parking and bus stop changes implemented near Meadowbank Train Station as part of construction works. The proposed time restrictions aim to address ongoing parking demand in the area.
