Why we’re making these changes
Whether people choose to drive, walk, cycle, bus, train or ferry their way around the region, Auckland Transport supports viable options that make journeys quicker, easier and safer.
This will enable what matters most to Aucklanders: a convenient, well-connected, accessible and reliable transport system.
Transport choices will meet the varying needs of Aucklanders so they can live their lives and enjoy our region now and into the future as we continue to grow.
Achieving the vision will require great public transport, an efficient and sustainable transport network and safe and seamless journeys for everyone.
The changes we’re proposing
Near Papakura Station
As we operate more buses to provide better public transport, more space is needed near Papakura Station to park buses to give drivers a safe place to wait between trips.
Changes are proposed on Marne Road, Railway Street West
Details of these changes are shown below.
Along Route 372 (Keri Hill Loop)
Route 372 runs every 20 minutes at peak times on weekdays, 30 minutes at other times during the day and hourly after 7pm, seven days a week.
Changes are proposed on Dominion Road, Willis Road, Sheehan Ave.
Details of these changes are shown below.
Along Route 378 (Karaka Harbourside Loop)
Route 378 runs every 30 minutes at peak times on weekdays and hourly at other times, seven days a week.
Changes are proposed on Anchorage Drive, Hinau Road, Wawatai Drive.
Details of these changes are shown below.
Have your say on the bus stops we’re proposing
We're planning new bus stops on the following streets. View the plans below and if you have any feedback, please complete the survey at the bottom of the page.
The bus stop placements are based on a 400m spacing between stops, which gives optimal distance for people in the surrounding areas to walk to these stops.
Dominion Road, Papakura
We are proposing to relocate the bus stop at 83/85 Dominion Road to 87 Dominion Road. This will move the bus stop away from over the driveway to the houses at 83 and 85 Dominion Road.
We are also proposing to install a pedestrian crossing between 89 and 92 Dominion Road with a pedestrian refuge island in the middle of the road and new road marking around this to provide a safer crossing at this location.
Broken yellow lines will be placed alongside the bus stop and pedestrian crossing.
The exact locations of these changes are shown below. (These and other drawings are also downloadable as a PDF in the documents to the right, labelled "Dominion Road.pdf".)

Image 1 (above) shows the proposed location of the bus stop and pedestrian crossing changes on Dominion Road, Papakura.
Willis Road, Papakura
We are proposing to move the bus stop outside 42 Willis Road to outside 44 Willis Road and add a shelter. We are also proposing a new pedestrian crossing between 42 Willis Road and 45 Willis Road with a pedestrian island refuge in the middle of the road and new road markings around this refuge.
This will move the bus stop further away from the intersection with Laurie Ave and provide a safer place for pedestrians to cross Willis Road.
Broken yellow lines will be placed alongside the bus stop and pedestrian crossing outside 40, 42, 44, 45, 47, 49 Willis Road.
We are also proposing to remove the bus stop at 64/66 Willis Road.
The exact locations of these changes are shown below. (These and other drawings are also downloadable as a PDF in the documents to the right, labelled "Willis Road.pdf".)

Sheehan Avenue, Papakura
We are proposing to formalise the existing bus stop at 38/40 Sheehan Ave. This will include painting the bus stop "box" onto the road and putting broken yellow lines in front of and behind the bus stop. New concrete on the footpath, a pole and tactiles to improve accessibility access are also included.
Broken yellow lines are also proposed at these locations to improve vehicle safety:
- on both sides of Sheehan Avenue between Valentine Street and President Street. This will mean vehicles cannot park in this section of the bend along Sheehan Avenue
- at the entrances to Valentine Street and President Street.
We are also proposing to remove an unused bus stop outside 20 and 22 Sheehan Avenue and make some upgrades to the pedestrian crossing between 13 and 16 and Sheehan Avenue.
The exact locations of these changes are shown below. (These and other drawings are also downloadable as a PDF in the documents to the right, labelled "Sheehan Avenue.pdf".)

Marne Road, Papakura
We are proposing to install bus parking spaces on Marne Road alongside Massey Park. It would be used for bus drivers when they take breaks between trips throughout the day and evening. Where possible we prefer to locate bus parking alongside parks or similar areas rather than park buses directly outside someone's house.
This bus parking would replace the equivalent of 18 general parking spaces at this location.
The exact locations of these changes are shown below. (These and other drawings are also downloadable as a PDF in the documents to the right, labelled "Marne Road.pdf".)

Railway Street West, Papakura
We are proposing to make changes to bus parking on Railway Street West around Papakura Station.
- Three P5 on-street carparks spaces will be moved along the road from the north of the station to the south of the station where they will replace three P180 on-street carparks.
- New bus stops will replace the removed P5 parking spaces.
- Some bus parking spaces will become bus stops and some bus stops will become bus parking spaces
- Alterations to the island pedestrian refuge near the intersection with Wood St.
The exact locations of these changes are shown below. (These and other drawings are also downloadable as a PDF in the documents to the right, labelled "Railway Street West.pdf".)

Anchorage Drive, Hingaia
We propose to formalise the bus stop at 46 Anchorage Drive. This includes painting the bus stop space on the road and necessary broken yellow lines, providing a new bench to sit on and a concrete pad at the front of the bus stops to make it easier to get on and off the bus.
The exact locations of these changes are shown below. (These and other drawings are also downloadable as a PDF in the documents to the right, labelled "Anchorage Drive.pdf".)

Hinau Road, Hingaia
Create a new bus stop opposite 5 Hinau Road. This will include improvements to the existing pedestrian crossing facility and new broken yellow lines outside 7 and 9 Hinau Rd.
The exact locations of these changes are shown below. (These and other drawings are also downloadable as a PDF in the documents to the right, labelled "Hinau Road.pdf".)
