The work we did

The project widened the footpath and improved access to the Bert Henham Park bus stops, providing a safer, more accessible, and continuous walking route along this section.

The following improvements have been made along this section of Mount Wellington Highway:

  • Widen footpath and reshape grass berms from 629 to opposite of 644 Mount Wellington Highway.
  • Upgrade kerb ramp to make it more comfortable for people with prams and mobility users.
  • Mark 'Bus Stop' on the road at both Bert Henham Park bus stops to improve visibility and accessibility.
  • Paint broken yellow lines on the corners of the private road entrance by the Mobil Station on Mt Wellington Highway.
  • Trimmed nearby trees and removed one tree opposite 638 Mount Wellington Highway to enable footpath widening.
  • There was no change to existing on‑street parking due to the project.

About the project

In response to requests from residents, we are proposing to upgrade the existing footpath on Mount Wellington Highway to address the narrow width of the existing footpath and difficulty of accessing the bus stop.
