About the project
May Road near Marion Avenue and Glynn Road, Mt Roskill – Signalised Crossing
This proposal is to improve pedestrian safety by providing a signalised crossing on May Road near Marion Avenue and Glynn Road. It’s designed to make it safer and easier for people to cross the road. The new pedestrian crossing is conveniently located near bus stops, local park Turners Reserve, nearby schools and new residential homes.
In addition to this, we will be relocating the bus shelter from outside #127 to #119 May Road.
What we are proposing
May Road, Mt Roskill Drawing
We are proposing to build and install a new signalised crossing on May Road near Marion Avenue and Glynn Road, Mt Roskill
The changes in the proposal include:
- New signalised pedestrian crossing
- Reconstruct the footpath for the new signalised crossing.
- Upgrading the existing bus stop and relocating the bus shelter from #127 to #119.
- Painting new broken yellow lines for the new bus stop and shelter. This will remove six parking spaces.
- Installing new tactile pavers. These are yellow guidance paving markers to help visually people to find their way to crossings and safely across roads.
Benefits and impacts
We want to work with you to deliver safer roads in your neighbourhood. These changes would:
- Provide a controlled signalised crossing for pedestrians to cross the road.
- Make it safer and easier for pedestrians to cross the road.
These improvements would remove six on-street parking spaces between the new crossing and the bus stop to improve visibility. We acknowledge this can be inconvenient, so we have minimised the removal of parking as much as possible.

With your local knowledge we would like to invite you to share your thoughts on the relocation of the bus stop.
