About the project
We’re responding to requests from residents to improve access and safety on Philson Terrace in Browns Bay.
At the moment, when vehicles are parked on both sides of the road, it reduces visibility and makes it difficult for vehicles to get through. This can be unsafe for drivers, people walking and cyclists, and can also block access to homes.
To make the road safer and easier to use we need to make some changes.
The changes we're making by April - May 2026
Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on the southern side, between 16 and 24 Philson Terrace.
Benefits to your community
Easier and safer for residents to access their homes.
Clears access for emergency service and large vehicles such as rubbish trucks.
Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road - making the street safer for everyone.
What happens next
Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
It will take one day to paint the road marking in good weather conditions.
We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
How to contact us
If you’d like to discuss our plans, share what you know about your area or let us know if there’s anything we’ve missed, email us at ATEngagement@at.govt.nz or leave us a comment on our websiteby 13 February 2026.
