About the project
We're responding to requests from the community to improve access in Fairview Avenue in Fairview Heights. We've heard it can be hard for people to get in and out of the street safely.
To make the street safer and easier to use, we're making changes on sections of the road.
The changes we're making by April/May 2026
- Northern side: Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) between 110 Fairview Avenue and the Para Close Intersection.
- Northern side: Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) between 118 and 120 Fairview Avenue.
- Southern side: Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) between 89 and 101 Fairview Avenue.
Benefits to your community
- Easier access for residents to get in and out of the street.
- Clears access for emergency services and large vehicles such as rubbish trucks.
- Improves accessibility and movement for buses.
- Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road, making the street safer for the community.
What happens next
- Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
- It will take one day to paint the road marking in good weather conditions.
- We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will tried to minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
- Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
