We’re responding to concerns raised by some residents to improve access on this narrow section of Harley Road in Takapuna. We’ve heard that it can be challenging for people to get in and out of the street safely. To improve safety and ease of use, we’re installing broken yellow lines on this part of the road.
The changes we’re making by mid-2026:
Painting “No Stopping at All Times” (broken yellow lines) outside #25 and #27 Harley Road, removing one parking space to clear access and keep traffic moving safely.
A larger drawing showing the changes can be found to the right of this page.
Benefits to your community.
Easier for residents to get in and out of the street.
Clears access for emergency services and large vehicles such as rubbish trucks.
Improves safety by removing parked vehicles that block visibility for all road users.
What happens next:
It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather conditions.
We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
How to contact us:
If you’d like to discuss our plans, share what you know about your area, or let us know if there’s anything we’ve missed, email us at ATEngagement@at.govt.nz by 1 April 2026 or leave us a comment below.
