- Painted no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on the approach to the intersection outside #1 Astrolabe Place.

About the Project
We're improving footpath safety on Gulf Harbour Drive to provide a safe, convenient, and well-connected walking option in your community.
This is part of our Footpaths Programme, which commits to encourage safe walking and cycling in your neighbourhood.
The changes we’re making
- Installing a new footpath and kerbs on the northern side of Gulf Harbour Drive from outside property #8 to the corner of Gulf Harbour Drive and Astrolabe Place.
- Installing a new pram crossing with yellow tactile pavers at the crossing points of Gulf Harbour Drive and Astrolabe Place. Tactile pavers are yellow guidance markers that help vision-impaired people cross the road.
- Paint no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) extending to outside the property #1 Astrolabe Place, to clear access and help with visibility for motorists.
- Upgrade the catchpit outside property #2 Astrolabe Place, to make cycle cycle-friendly.
Benefits to your community
- Footpaths make it safer for the community by separating motorists and traffic from people on foot. Widening the footpath gives more room for people to wait to cross.
- Well-maintained footpaths are safer for people who walk and ride their bikes and scooters, reducing the risk of being hurt or injured.
- More footpaths make it easier and stress-free for the community to move around the neighbourhood, offering better connections to schools, parks, public transport and other local amenities.
- Pram crossings make it safer and more convenient for people pushing prams or strollers to crossroads. It helps ensure those with mobility needs can navigate crossing more easily.
- Walking and cycling are good for the environment and good for your health. It helps reduce reliance on cards for local trips, decreasing traffic congestion and reducing our carbon emissions.
