About the project

We’re proposing to introduce time‑limited parking on a section of Galway Street to better manage parking demand and improve access for customers, clients, and nearby businesses.

We’ve heard concerns from the business community that trucks parking for extended periods reduce the availability of parking for nearby businesses, making it more difficult for customers to access them.

Time‑limited parking helps encourage turnover and makes parking spaces available to more people throughout the day.

  • Introduce P120 (2-hour) time restriction between the driveways of 36 and 38 Galway Street.
  • The P120 time restriction will apply Monday to Saturday, 8am-9pm. Outside these hours, the spaces will be unrestricted parking.

Benefits and impacts

  • Improves parking availability in an area with high parking demand.
  • Makes it easier for customers and clients to find short‑stay parking during business operating hours.
  • Supports nearby businesses by reducing long‑stay parking and improving access throughout the day.
  • Provides parking that better matches the operating hours of nearby businesses, particularly in the evening.
