About the project
We’re proposing to make changes on Galloway Crescent to improve visibility and safety for all road users.
Concerns have been raised by the local school about reduced visibility at driveways, intersections and crossing points due to parked vehicles. This limited visibility makes it difficult for both drivers and pedestrians especially students travelling to and from school.
To address this, following a site visit assessment, we are proposing changes to the existing parking controls, including new “no stopping at certain times” restrictions and new road markings.
Changes to the existing parking controls as follows:

8am-9:30am &2:30pm-4pm
Except School Holidays
Install a new no stopping at certain times restriction, outside 1 Galloway Crescent. The restrictions would apply 8am-9:30am &2:30pm-4pm, Except School Holidays.
Install broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) and a new STOP control at the Galloway Crescent and Prince Regent Drive intersection (on the corner outside 1 Galloway Crescent). The STOP control will require vehicles travelling on Galloway Crescent to come to a complete stop before entering the intersection, improving visibility and enhancing safety for all road users

Our aim is to make roads safer, especially near schools.
Improves visibility for drivers and pedestrians by keeping key areas clear of parked vehicles
Makes it safer for children travelling to and from school
Reduces potential conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians
Helps traffic move more safely and smoothly during school pick-up and drop-off times
Improves overall safety around the school
