Formalising parking in the Donegal Park and Greenan Drive area
As neighbourhoods grow, it can make already narrow roads difficult to navigate. Auckland Transport (AT) has received valuable feedback from residents, and we’re taking steps to improve safety and accessibility for everyone.

People are parking too close to intersections, corners, and bends, which blocks other driver’s view – especially on narrow roads. These parked cars also hinder access to pedestrian crossing points at the corners, particularly for young people walking to school, parks or shops.
We are implementing neighbourhood changes to 12 roads in the area.
Broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) will be painted at the following intersections:
1. Thomas Road and Greenan Drive intersection
2. Greenan Drive and Cooladawson Drive
3. Tir Conaill Avenue and Cooladawson Drive
4. Tir Connaill Avenue and Greenan Drive intersection
5. Tir Conaill Avenue and Drumconnall Drive
6. Carrick Glen Avenue and Donegal Park Drive intersection
7. Innisowen Place and Donegal Park Drive intersection
8. Dunaff Place and Donegal Park Drive intersection
9. Tir Conaill Avenue and Donegal Park Drive intersection
10. Teelin Place and Donegal Park Drive intersection
11. Killeen Place and Donegal Park Drive
12. Falcarragh Crescent and Donegal Park Drive

These improvements will help make these local streets safer and easier to navigate:
• Better road access and visibility for drivers at intersections
• Clearer pedestrian crossing points, especially for children and families
• Minimal impact on legal parking, as parking near corners and intersections is already restricted under the NZ Road Code
Parking reminder of places you cannot park under the NZ Road Code include:
• closer than 6 metres to an intersection, the approach side of a pedestrian crossing or a bus stop marked only by a sign
• where it’s in the way of other road users, including pedestrians
• near a corner, curve, hill, traffic island or intersection if it stops other people from seeing along the road
