About the project
We’re responding to accessibility concerns from rubbish collection contractors on Eastdale Road, Avondale.
Vehicles parked at the end of the cul-de-sac are obstructing the turning space, making it challenging for rubbish trucks to turn their vehicles around.
To make the street safer and easier to use, we’re introducing parking restrictions at the end of the cul-de-sac.
The changes we’re making:
Paint no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) between 98 -102 Eastdale Road. To clear access and improve visibility, we need to reallocate road space and remove 2 parking spaces.
Benefits to your community:
Easier for residents to access their homes.
Clears access for emergency services and large vehicles such as rubbish trucks.
Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road - making the street safer for everyone.
What happens next
We will install these changes by April 2026. Any change to the plan will be updated on this page.
It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather conditions.
We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
