When will they be bookable?
The pre-book parks will operate 24/7 (weekends/PHs?)
Spaces will be bookable using the AT park app up to 5 days in advance. Each session is a full day running midnight to midnight. Up to 5 consecutive days can be booked.
How much will it cost to book a space?
The cost will be $9 per day. This is less than it costs to use street parking close by and is much cheaper than the cost of driving and parking in the city. Spaces can be booked at weekends and public holidays free of charge.
Why are you introducing bookable parking?
We are always trying to make public transport better and accessible for everyone.
We are introducing a bookable system at Albany, to address customers concerns about the lack of parking available for those outside of morning peak.
Our Room to Move strategy promotes more dynamic use of roads and streets so that road space can be used in different ways at different times of day, depending on travel demand. It also provides guidance on how we manage park and rides to optimise how they’re used.
Room to Move indicated that AT would be looking to introduce a pre-booked selection of spaces to enable people to use the park and ride during the day.
