About the pilot
We are piloting pre-bookable parking spaces at Albany park and ride from March 2025.
Albany Park and Ride is one of AT’s largest Park and Rides with 1,210 spaces. There are 58 parking spaces available for pre-booking each day (4.8% of the total number of spaces available).
Changes to how we manage park and rides were part of our Room to Move strategy, published in 2023.
Why we are doing this
Demand for parking at Albany park and ride is extremely high. Nearly all parking spaces are full by about 8am.
You have told us you want to:
use park and rides later in the day
know if there are spaces available
book online
For $9 a day, you’ll be able to book certain parking spaces on the AT Park mobile app (Area ID 21106) before you arrive.
The bookable spaces are a short 2-minute walk to the bus station. All other park and ride spaces will remain free for people to use.
To see the location of the pre-booked parking spaces, download the map.
What we want your feedback on
We would like feedback from users on:
How often they use the park and ride facilities
How often they have booked a space
Why they book a space
How you can have your say
Have your say by completing the online feedback form or by emailing ATEngagement@at.govt.nz. In line with the pilot, the feedback form will be open from March 2025 to September 2026.
What happens next
We will review all the feedback once the pilot finishes and provide a summary which will be shared in late 2026. Your feedback will be used to help us refine bookable spaces to provide the best service for users.
