Consultation Outcome
After reviewing the feedback we received, we are proceeding with no changes on our proposal to paint ten metres of broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) at the entrance side of the driveway at 63 Allendale Road, with three metres of broken yellow lines on the exiting side.
What happens next
We anticipate these changes will be installed between February and March 2025.
We'll be in touch with local residents before any changes take place.
Community Feedback
Thank you for helping us make better decisions for your neighbourhood, informed by your local knowledge.
We received a fair amount of feedback about the proposal, and with no submission that would negatively impact the community.
Below are our responses to the summary of your feedback and our responses.
Extension of Broken Yellow Lines
- Request to extend the broken yellow lines up to outside 49 Allendale Road. The road has become extremely busy and unsafe for the residents at 51 Allendale Road to exit their driveway due to poor visibility.
We need to balance parking for residents and visitors with keeping our roads accessible. We understand that parked vehicles on the road can be inconvenient. Parking within one metre of a driveway is illegal, as stated in the Road Code. If you see illegal parking, please call us at (09) 355 3553 with the vehicle’s details for enforcement.
- Request to extend the broken yellow lines westward towards Richardson Road to connect with the existing lines at the next driveway. This will create a no parking zone at all entrances to Everill Orr on Allendale Road.
We need to balance parking for residents and visitors with road access. We understand parked vehicles on the road can be inconvenient. We are unable to justify removing additional parking spaces at this stage.
Parking
- Concern about unclear information on the loss of one parking space (where) and a request for clarification on whether the proposed yellow lines will make more parking spaces unavailable on Allendale Road.
Three metres of broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) on the north side and ten metres on the south side of the driveway will be installed. One parking space will be removed on the south side of the driveway.
About the project
We’ve received requests from the retirement community and residents of Everil Orr Village to improve visibility and address safety concerns at the driveway when exiting the development.
Due to the steep driveway of the retirement village, this makes it difficult for drivers to see oncoming cars on Allendale Road especially when cars are parked too close to both sides of the driveway at 63 Allendale Road.
What we are proposing
We’re improving visibility and access on your street.
