116 Valley Rd, Mount Eden - Broken Yellow Lines
Project update (May 2025)
In November 2024 we invited the community feedback on our proposal to improve road safety and visibility by installing broken yellow lines on Valley Road.
We are pleased to inform you that this project is moving forward.
These changes are expected to be completed by June 2025.
It will take one day to paint the broken yellow line markings in good weather conditions.
What we’re doing
- Broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) will be painted next to the driveway at 116 Valley Road.
- Removing 2 on-street parking spaces to improve visibility and safety.
We remind all drivers to park correctly and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
We’ll keep you updated
We will notify you before any works start. If you have any questions, please contact us by email ATengagement@at.govt.nz subject line BYL-683 or phone 09 355 3553.

Consultation Outcome
After reviewing the feedback we received, we are proceeding with no changes on our proposal to paint broken yellow lines (no stopping at all times) next to the driveway of 116 Valley Road, Mount Albert.
What happens next
We anticipate these changes will be installed by April 2025.
We'll be in touch with local residents before any changes take place.
About the project
We’ve received requests from residents to improve visibility and address safety concerns of cars parking too close to the pedestrian crossing at the driveway of 116 Valley Road in Mount Eden.
When cars are parked too close to a pedestrian crossing, this makes it difficult for both pedestrians and drivers to see oncoming vehicles or people walking near the crossing.
