Tell us your thoughts

We're making sure kids stay safe as roads get busier. Do you think we've found the balance between helping kids safety, slowing down drivers and keeping traffic moving?

Our proposal:

  • Building a zebra crossing at road level with a pedestrian island where people can wait safely to finish crossing the road.
  • Installing high friction surfacing on the approaches to the crossing to make it easier for drivers to slow and stop in time.
  • Extending the east corner of the Arranmore Drive and Flat Bush School Road intersection to make left turns slower.
  • Installing yellow tactile pavers to help visually impaired individuals find their way to the new crossing.
  • Building a footpath on the south side of Flat Bush School Road.
  • Painting the cycle lanes green.
  • Adding broken yellow lines (no stopping any time) on both sides of the road near the crossing to ensure drivers and pedestrians have a clear view. This will remove 11 on-street parking spaces.
  • Installing new signs and streetlights and painting new road markings to support the new crossing.
