About the project

We received requests from the community to improve safety and visibility along Glidepath Road in Hobsonville Point.

Glidepath Road is a narrow road, and cars parked on both sides of the road force drivers over the centre line and create potential safety risks. This situation also affects visibility for motorists, making it challenging to safely move their vehicles while maintaining clear sightlines for all road users.

The changes we're making by June 2025

  • We plan to paint "no stopping at all times" (broken yellow lines) on Glidepath Road, including the intersections at Hobsonville Point Road and Peihana Road.

Benefits to your community

  • Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming vehicles as well as people walking, cycling and crossing the road
  • Ensures ease of access for all vehicles into and out of Glidepath Road
  • Enables accessibility for emergency and large vehicles including safe collection of rubbish and recycling

It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather conditions. We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.

Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.

What happens next

  • We will be in touch with local residents and businesses prior to any construction taking place.
  • Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
