About the Project

We’re responding to safety concerns raised by residents and bus operators to improve safety and visibility, especially for buses when travelling through the intersection of Warner Park Avenue and Laingholm Drive in Laingholm.

Right now, it can be hard for larger vehicles like buses to safely turn at this intersection due to tight corners and limited visibility. Our checks showed that better road markings and signs are needed to help drivers move to the area safely.

The changes we're making

  • Paint no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on the bend near 73 Warner Park Avenue to make turning easier and improve visibility for motorists using this section of the road.
  • Install Limit line marking outside property 73 to guide drivers on where to stop safely and give way.
  • Install new signs to support these changes and make things clearer for everyone.

A drawing showing the changes has been sent with this letter.

Benefits to your community

  • Safer journeys – The improvements help reduce the risk of crashes and make it safer for everyone using the road.
  • Better road outlining & access – It’s easier for buses and vehicles to get around the intersection and move through the area safely.
  • New road markings and signs clarify right of way and reduce confusion, improve safety by minimising the risk of collisions, and ensure compliance with traffic regulations.

What happens next

We will install these changes by August/September 2025.

We will be in touch with local residents and businesses prior to any work taking place.

Any change to the plan will be updated on our webpage.
