Viaduct Harbour Clearway

Project overview

We've received a request from the community to improve safety on Viaduct Harbour Avenue within the Auckland Central Business District.

We are planning to have a clearway during peak hours outside 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue to improve safe access for vehicles approaching the Halsey Street intersection traffic lights.

What we're proposing

The planned changes include:

• No stopping outside 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue between 4pm-6pm Monday - Friday
• Clearway restrictions impacting 3 carparks and a Loading Zone

Why we are doing this

We want to work with the community to deliver safer roads in your neighbourhood.

These changes would:

• Enhance overall safety for road users
• Improve traffic flow by increasing vehicle clearance toward the intersection
• Reduce the risk of crashes
