About the project
In September to October 2021, we consulted on the installation of bus shelters at bus stop #1895 and #1890 as well as the installation of a new pedestrian island near 177 St Heliers Bay Road.
The outcome of the proposal was a revised design
Shifting the proposed shelter at bus stop #1895 outside 173 St Heliers Bay Road to the rear of the road reserve and using a standard size bus shelter.
This proposal would improve the safety for vulnerable road users – particularly residents of Grace Joel Retirement Village when using the public transport facilities and provide weather protection during hot or rainy days. Improving our customers’ experience on public transport is important to us, and we now have funding to implement these changes.
The changes we’re making
New bus shelter with retaining wall at bus stop #1890 outside Grace Joel Retirement Village
New bus shelter with retaining wall at bus stop #1895 outside 173 St Heliers Bay Rd

What happens next
Any change to the plan will be updated on this page.
