About the project

In response to concerns regarding visibility issues when turning into Torino Street, we are planning to extend the broken yellow lines at the intersection of Torino Street and Pilkington Road.

The changes we’re making

  • Extending the existing broken yellow lines by 30 metres at the top of Torino Street.
  • This will result in a loss of four on-street parking spaces near the intersection to improve visibility. We acknowledge this can be inconvenient, so we have minimised the removal of parking as much as possible.

Vehicles parked illegally on the new broken yellow lines may receive infringement notices or be towed away.

In good weather conditions, it will take one day to paint the broken yellow lines.

Benefits to your community:

Auckland Transport would like to work with you to deliver safer roads in your neighbourhood. These changes aim to improve visibility and accessibility for residents and visitors. Torino Street can become a narrow road when vehicles park opposite each other. Painting broken yellow lines will encourage safer parking behaviour and prevent the road from being blocked.

What happens next

We will install these changes in April 2026.

Any change to the plan will be updated on this page.

We will be in touch with the local residents and businesses prior to any work taking place.

How to contact us

If you'd like to speak to someone about our plans, please email us at ATengagement@at.govt.nz(External link) by 7 November 2025.
