About the Project :
We are responding to requests for help to improve visibility and address safety issues in Tania Place, Blockhouse Bay.
This is a narrow cul-de-sac and having cars parked on both sides of the road presents access issues for residents, emergency services and utility contractors.
Changes are needed to make sure driveways are kept clear and there is ease of access for everyone to get in and out of the street and their homes safely.
The changes we’re making by March 2025
Remove the "No Stopping at Certain Times" signs.
Paint 148m of “No Stopping At All Times" (Broken yellow lines) along one side of the road and around the cul de sac head.
To always ensure clear access to this section of the road, we will need to reallocate road space and remove approximately 2 parking spaces.
Please find the drawing on right hand side of this page.
Benefits to your community
Clears congestion and ensures ease of access for all residents, emergency services and large vehicles such as rubbish trucks into and out of Tania Place
Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming vehicles as well as people walking, cycling and crossing the road. This makes it safer particularly for tamariki (children), who can be hard to see when there are lots of cars parked on the road.
Improves safety by preventing parked vehicles from obstructing their view coming out of driveways and access to homes along the road during emergency situations.
Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
