About the Project:
We are planning changes at three bends along Sunshine Boulevard in Sunnyvale, where parked vehicles make it difficult for waste collection trucks to safely negotiate the curves. Auckland Transport was made aware of the issue following concerns raised by a waste collection company.
We carried out an investigation, which confirmed that the road is narrow, with a high number of parked vehicles during the day.
The changes we’re making by August-September 2026
• Install No Stopping at All Times(broken yellow lines) on the three bends on Sunshine Boulevard
A drawing showing the changes has been sent with this letter.
Benefits to your community:
• Improved access for rubbish collection vehicles.
• Safer access for all vehiclesby keeping the key access points clear.
What happens next:
We will be in touch with local residents before any work takes place. In good weather conditions, it typically takes one day to paint broken yellow lines. Any updates or changes to the plan will be shared through our usual channels.
How to contact us:
If you’d like to discuss our plans, share local insights, or let us know if we’ve missed anything, email us at ATEngagement@at.govt.nz by 3rd July 2026
