Project Update 2025
We’re pleased to let you know that the Stafford Road, Northcote Point- Zebra Crossing was completed in March 2025
Thanks so much for your patience while we carried out this work.
The work we did
This project aimed to provide you with a safe, convenient, and well-connected travel option by installing several safety improvements to ensure better walking access for the community to local amenities like Stafford Park.
Some of the key improvements included:
Zebra crossing at 29 Stafford Road with a crossing island.
Tactile pavers.
New Pram Crossing on Denby Lane.
New coloured surfacing with white edge line outline to slow the speed of vehicles turning left onto Denby Lane.
Extending the footpath on the northern side of Stafford Road.
Relocating the existing bus stop (4007) on the southern kerb to 33 Stafford Road.
Paint new road markings and install new signs to support these changes.
No stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on the approach to the crossing.
With these changes, we aim to make it safer for people on the road. We’ve attached a photo so you can see what’s been done.
We want to thank the community for sending us your feedback on our recent survey. This will help our teams improve future projects in your community and Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland.
