About the project
Earlier this year, we made some changes to the parking arrangements on Seaview Avenue as part of the Onewa Road corridor improvements project. One of those key changes was to shift the P15 parking spaces on Seaview Avenue to the eastern side of the road.
Since we made this change, several customers have raised with us that the first of the P15 parking spaces (the one closest to Onewa Road) is positioned too close to the intersection. When this space is occupied, it creates a bottleneck where vehicles cannot safely enter and exit Seaview Avenue simultaneously.
The change we're planning
To address this issue and ensure safer, more efficient vehicle movements for traffic entering and exiting Seaview Avenue, we plan to remove the P15 parking space that is closest to the intersection and replace it with broken yellow lines.
The other P15 parking spaces will stay in their current position so that some temporary parking remains available for the corner shops customers.
A downloadable copy of the design plan is available under the "Design drawings" tab of this webpage.
