About the project

Auckland Transport is looking to improve the safety for road users at the Brady Road and Princes Street East intersection in Ōtāhuhu, by installing a roundabout at this location later in 2025.

Currently, buses must perform a three-point turn at this intersection, which has an impact on road users when it comes to safety and journey times.

With a roundabout installed, buses will be able to perform a U-turn more safely while causing less disruption for other road users.

The changes we’re making

• Construction of a roundabout and islands at the intersection of Brady Road and Princes Street East

• Kerb works on all sides of the intersection to accommodate the roundabout and island construction

• Painting no stopping at all times (broken yellow) lines on each side of the intersection

A total of 11 parking spaces will be required to accommodate these changes. We expect these changes will improve road safety for motorists and community.

What happens next

We will install these changes late 2025, further information will be provided closer to the time.

Any change to the plan will be updated on this page.

We will be in touch with the local residents and businesses prior to any construction taking place.
