About the Redoubt Road dynamic lanes

Since they launched in 2020, the Redoubt Road dynamic lanes have provided much-needed time savings to travellers from the Southern Motorway. Travel times have reduced by as much as 54%.

The dynamic lanes on Redoubt Road work by using the middle lane as an additional lane during peak times.

New operating hours are here

After finishing installing the new broken yellow lines in November, we have started the new operating hours, as of 1 December 2025.

The dynamic lanes now operate between 2pm and 7pm, Monday through Friday.

We appreciate the community's patience as we worked through some unexpected delays to complete this project.

Keeping the road clear ahead of the change

Before we could change the dynamic lanes operating hours, we needed to install no stopping at all times broken yellow lines on a stretch of Redoubt Road between properties 25 and 57.

This change helps ensure parked cars do not disrupt traffic flow when the new operating hours go into effect. It also makes this part of Redoubt Road consistent with the rest of the dynamic lanes' road space. All the other parts of Redoubt Road in this area already have broken yellow lines.

This change was completed in November 2025.
