About the Project :

We are making Rattray Street Service Lane in Devonport safer and more accessible for service lane users.

Recently, a business at #24 Victoria Road placed a storage container where car parks used to be. This has forced cars to park on the narrow 5.5m road, making it hard for residents to enter and exit their properties and blocking the entrance to the private carpark at #20 Victoria Road. The lane is a no-exit street, and traffic searching for parking causes blockages.

To fix this, we plan to make the following changes by May/June 2025:

  • Remove the P60 time restriction.
  • Install yellow lines on both sides of the service lane.

Please see the attached drawing on the right hand side to know the exact changes.

Benefits to Your Community :

  • The yellow lines will make it safer and easier for residents to enter and exit their properties onto Rattray Service Lane.
  • It will prevent vehicles from blocking the entrance to the carpark at #20 Victoria Road.
  • It will reduce congestion and prevent blockages in the service lane.
