About the project:

We are planning changes on Peter Mulgrew Street, New Windsor to improve safety and accessibility to traffic flow along this narrow section of road.

Peter Mulgrew Street, New Windsor is a narrow roadway, which allows parking on one side of the street and when vehicles park opposite each they block access. This has created safety concerns in cases of emergency.

To improve access for everyone we are planning to formalise parking by using parking restrictions on this narrow section of the road.

Changes are we making by August 2026:

  • Paint “No Stopping at All Times” (broken yellow lines) on Peter Mulgrew Street, New Windsor to restrict parking and improve traffic movement.

A drawing showing the planned changes is included with this letter.

Benefits for your community:

These changes will:

  • Improve accessibility for all vehicles into and out of Peter Mulgrew Street, including waste removal and emergency services. Enhance safety for all road users, including people walking and cycling
  • Support smoother traffic flow on this narrow section of road

What happens next?

  • Any updates or changes to the plan will be published on our website
  • Road marking works will take approximately one day, subject to suitable weather conditions
  • We understand this work may cause some temporary inconvenience and will do our best to minimise disruption while prioritising safety
  • Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed
