Improving parking availability near Orewa beach playground

About the project

We have heard the community's concerns around parking availability on the Hibiscus Coast Highway near the Orewa beach children's playground. From February 2026, we will be introducing time-restricted parking from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Implementing a time restriction will improve parking availability, allowing these parking spaces to be used by more families and visitors, as well as residents.

The changes we’re making

Install a 2-hour parking restriction (P120) that applies between 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday on the new angled parking spaces along the Boulevard (Hibiscus Coast Highway) near the children's playground at Orewa beach
