About the project
Whether people choose to drive, walk, cycle, bus, train or ferry their way around the region, Auckland Transport aims to make that journey quicker, easier and safer.
To make it easier for pedestrians, especially students from the nearby school, to get around, we’re planning to build a new section of footpath and install two streetlights along Nobilo Road.
The changes we’re making
Building a new section of footpath to connect the existing footpaths outside 7 Nobilo Road and Station Road
Installing a short section of safety fencing along the footpath to help protect pedestrians from vehicles and support safer movement on the steep corner
Installing two new streetlights to improve visibility at night
Benefits to your community
Footpaths help keep people safe by providing space away from traffic.
Wider footpaths give people more room to move and wait to cross.
Well-maintained footpaths are safer for everyone walking, scootering, or biking.
Better-connected footpaths make it easier to get to schools, parks, public transport and local places.
Walking and cycling support better health and help reduce traffic and emissions in our neighbourhood.
What happens next
We are looking at installing these changes in July 2026.
Any updates to the plan will be posted on this webpage.
We will be in touch with the local residents and businesses prior to any construction taking place.
