About the project:

This project is funded by Kaipātiki Local Board community transport fund, to improve safety at Hillcrest.

Parked vehicles on Moore Street cause drivers, particularly bus school services, to cross the centreline when approaching the intersection of Moore Street & Glenfield Road, which may pose a risk to other road users.

We received a request from the community to improve visibility and safety issues near the intersection of Moore Street and Glenfield Road in Hillcrest.

The changes we’re making by March/April 2025

  • Extend the No Stopping At All Times (Broken Yellow Lines) parking restriction at Moore street
  • Shift the centreline marking to allow more room for drivers to turn safely at the intersection

Please refer to the drawing attached to see the exact changes on right hand side of this page.

Benefits to your neighbourhood:

  • Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming vehicles as well as people walking, cycling and crossing the road.
  • Clears and ensures ease of access for all vehicles into and out of Moore Street, Hillcrest.

It will take one day to paint the broken yellow lines in good weather conditions. We know this may cause an inconvenience and we have tried to minimise this as much as possible, while balancing safety concerns.

Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
