About Project:
As a result of the Milford Town Centre parking study, we noted the businesses and community concerns about turnover of existing mobility parking spaces in the carpark at 139 Kitchner Road, Milford, we will be introducing time restrictions.
Implementing time restrictions will create turnover of parking in these spaces allowing these parking spaces to be used by more users including customers and visitors to the town centre.
We plan to make these changes by August-September 2026:
Install a 3-hour parking restriction (P180) to the existing mobility parking spaces in Kitchener Road carpark located at 139, on Kitchener Road, Milford.
P180 signs will be installed to indicate the restrictions.
A drawing below shows where the changes will be installed.
Benefits to your community:
Better Parking Availability: With a 3-hour parking limit, more people can use the parking spaces throughout the day, making it easier for families and visitors to find a spot.
Make it easy for mobility card holders: Mobility card holders will have better chances to find parking while visiting the area.
Support Local Businesses: Higher parking turnover means more visitors can access local shops, cafes, and restaurants, boosting sales and foot traffic.
What happens next:
It will take one day for the installation of the new signs in good weather conditions. We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
Please remember to park courteously and look for parking restriction signs. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
