About the project

We’re making a small change to improve safety outside Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School on Kapowai Boulevard.

The school has raised concerns about traffic safety during school drop‑off and pick‑up times. At the moment, the broken yellow lines (no stopping at any time) are not in the best location to support safe vehicle movement and pedestrian access.

To make it safer for parents, caregivers, and children, we plan to move the broken yellow lines to a more suitable location closer to the school.

What we're planning in June/July 2026:

  • The “No stopping at all times” (broken yellow lines) will be moved from the western side of Kapowai Boulevard to the eastern side, near 139 Airfield Road, Takanini.

Benefits to your community:

  • Safer access to the footpath for parents and children, especially during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Smoother traffic flow on the road, reducing congestion by avoid stopping on the wrong side of the footpath.
  • Better access to the school for parents and caregivers, with parking restrictions placed where they work best.

What happens next?

  • It will take one day for the installation of the new road markings in good weather conditions. We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
  • Please remember to park courteously and look for parking restrictions. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
