Engagement outcome – 24 September 2025

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts on our project. We’ve listened and responded by making changes as follows:

What’s changing

  • Adding no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on Glenfield Road at the following locations

- Between 141 and 139 Glenfield Road

- Outside 18 and 20 Glenfield Road

  • We need to clear access for traffic and improve visibility on this section of road by reallocating road space and remove 9 parking spaces (6 between #141-139 Glenfield Road, and 3 outside #18 and 20)

These changes mean there will be no clearway installed during the morning and afternoon peak times as originally planned.

Benefits for your community:

  • Clears access and keeps the lane clear for traffic
  • Makes it easier for everyone to get through Glenfield Road
  • Improves safety and access for people entering and leaving driveways

A larger drawing showing the changes can be found to the right of this page under Glenfield Road Updated Drawing.

About this project:

To help ease congestion on Glenfield Road, we’re installing clearway restrictions near 139 - 141 Glenfield Road.

Parked vehicles in the area can slow traffic and cause delays, especially during the morning and afternoon peak hours.

The changes we’re making by early 2026:

  • Installing no stopping or parking during certain times (clearway) signs, Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm
  • Paint additional no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) outside 141 Glenfield Road. This ensures the driveway stays clear

A larger drawing showing the changes can be found to the right of this page.

Benefits to the community:

  • Clears access and keeps the lane clear for traffic, particularly during morning and afternoon peak hours
  • Makes it easier for everyone to get through Glenfield Road
  • Improves safety and access for people entering and leaving driveways

What happens next:

  • It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather conditions.
  • We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
  • Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
  • We ask everyone to follow the new restrictions once they’re in place and remind all drivers to park correctly to avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed.

How to contact us:

If you’d like to discuss our plans, share what you know about your area or let us know if there’s anything we’ve missed, email us at ATEngagement@at.govt.nz or leave us a comment on our website by 17 September 2025.
