About the project
We’re making changes to improve safety along the section of Leigh Road between Coxhead Creek Road and 227 Leigh Road, Leigh.
These proposed improvements are due to four crashes reported on the bends along this section of Leigh Road between 2021 and 2025. The factors contributing to these crashes were either vehicles losing control or head-on collisions.
We’re committed to making this road safer for all road users and the wider community.
The changes we're proposing
- Install or upgrade curve advance warning signs on the approaches to the bends and chevrons signs, along the bends where requried.
- Install Active Warning Signs to encourage safe and appropriate speeds.
- Upgrade the existing and install red raised pavement markers (RRPM) along the bends between Coxhead Creek and 227 Leigh Road.
What happens next
- Any change tot he plan will be updated on our website.
- We expect to implement the changes in February 2027.
