About the project
We’re responding to requests by Destination Orewa Beach Business Association to improve parking availability for people with limited mobility (mobility card holders) on The Boulevard in Orewa.
This area has no kerb, making it easier for people using wheelchairs, mobility aids, or prams. Reserving a space here for mobility card holders will make parking fairer and easier for those who need it most.
The changes we're making by early 2026
- One parking space outside 292-294 Hibiscus Coast Highway will become a 2 hour (P120) mobility parking, available at all times.

What happens next
- Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
- It will take one day to paint the road marking in good weather conditions.
- We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
