Thanks to the Rodney Local Board Transport Capital Fund, we’re upgrading and improving bus facilities in your area, specifically at stop 4953 opposite 1093 Coatesville Riverhead Highway.
The changes we’re making in December 2025:
- Paint no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on either side of bus stop 4953 to ensure buses have clear access to the stop.
- Repaint bus border markings to move bus stop number 4953 by 15m to improve the lead in access to the stop.
- Install new yellow BUS STOP markings to improve visibility of the designated bus stop.
- Install a new bus shelter at bus stop 4953, opposite 1093 Coatesville Riverhead Highway, to provide better shelter for bus users.
A drawing showing the changes can be found to the right of this page.
Benefits to your community:
- New road markings and signs clarify right of way, improve safety by minimising the risk of collisions, and ensure compliance with traffic regulations
- Having a bus stop in your area creates better access and connections to public transport help with bus reliability and frequency.
- A bus shelter improves comfort while waiting for the bus as it provides people with a place to sit and protection from the wind and rain.
- Travelling via buses reduces traffic congestion and emissions, and supports a more connected, sustainable and liveable community to get you to work, school or local shops and home safely.
