About the project
We’re responding to safety and visibility concerns raised by residents and waste management services on Vazey Way, Brickworks Bay Road and Ngaroma House Drive in Hobsonville.
These are narrow streets, and having cars parked on both sides of the road presents access issues for large vehicles, including utility contractors, emergency services and residents. Incidents have been reported, so changes are needed to ensure driveways are kept clear and there is ease of access for everyone to get in and out of the street and home safely.
The changes we're making by October-November 2025:
Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on both sides of the bends of
Brickworks Bay Road
Vazey Way
Ngaroma House Drive
Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on both sides of Vazey Way and Ngaroma House Drive intersection.
Benefits to your community:
Improves access and visibility for all drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road, making it safer for the community.
Clears congestion and ensures ease of access for all residents, emergency services and large vehicles such as rubbish trucks into and out of these streets.
Improves safety by preventing parked vehicles from obstructing their view when coming out of driveways and access to homes along the road during emergency situations.
Improved access to properties, public walkway and reserves.
In good weather conditions, it will take one day to paint the broken yellow lines. We know this may cause an inconvenience, and we’ve tried to minimise this as much as possible.
What happens next:
Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
Please mention Streets in Hobsonville in the subject line.
