About the project
We're responding to requests we've received from residents on Skua Road, to improve access along the street.
Skua Road is quite narrow, and when cars park along both sides, it blocks access – especially near driveways and tighter sections of the road. This makes it hard for people to get in and out of their driveways and move safely along the street.
The changes we're making by January 2026
Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on one side of Skua Road to help clear access and improve visibility.
Benefits to your community
Improved access to properties and public walkways.
Improves access and visibility for drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road, making it safer for the community.
Improves access for all vehicles including emergency vehicles.
What happens next
Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
We will be in touch with local residents and businesses prior to any work taking place.
It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather conditions.
We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parking illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
