About the project
We’re responding to requests from the community to improve access on Richards Avenue, Forrest Hill.
To improve safety and make this part of Richards Avenue easier and safer for everyone to use, we are proposing some changes.
The changes we're making by June 2026
- Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) outside #46 and #48 Richards Avenue. This will remove 3 parking spaces.
Benefits to your community
- Easier access for residents to get in and out of the street, use their driveways and access their homes.
- Clears access for emergency services and other large vehicles such as rubbish trucks.
- Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road - making the street safer for everyone.
What happens next
- Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
- It will take one day to paint the road markings in good weather conditions.
- We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
- Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parking illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
