About the project

We’re responding to requests from the community to improve access on John F Kennedy Place, Glen Eden.

John F Kennedy Place is a narrow road with a cul-de-sac. When cars park on both sides of the road, it makes it hard for residents, emergency services and rubbish trucks to get through.

The changes we're making by May- June 2026

  • Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on the southern side of the road and around the end of the cul-de-sac and at the intersection.

Benefits to your community

  • Improved access for residents to their properties and driveways.
  • Clear access for emergency services and other large vehicles, such as rubbish trucks.
  • Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road - making the street safer for everyone.

What happens next

  • It will take one day to paint the road marking in good weather conditions.
  • We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
  • Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.

How to contact us

If you’d like to discuss our plans, share what you know about your area or let us know if there’s anything we’ve missed, email us at ATEngagement@at.govt.nz by 27 February 2026.
