About the project
We’re responding to concerns raised by bus drivers about improving accessibility for buses on Cobham Crescent in Kelston.
The 161 bus service makes several stops along Cobham Crescent, but parked vehicles on the bends are making it harder for drivers to navigate. This causes delays and affects the safety and reliability of the service.
To address the issue, we plan to introduce parking restrictions to keep the bends clear, allowing buses to travel safely and smoothly, and maintain a consistent service for the community.
The changes we're making by April 2026
Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) on the corner outside property #55 and from #47 to #51 Cobham Crescent.
Benefits to your community
Improves safety and visibility for everyone by preventing parked vehicles from obstructing the bus drivers’ view and allowing them to drive with ease along the bend of Cobham Crescent.
Clears and ensures ease of access at the bend for all residents, emergency services and all other large vehicles such as rubbish trucks.
What happens next
Any change to the plan will be updated on our website.
It will take one day to paint the road marking in good weather conditions.
We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
