About the project
We’re responding to requests from the community to improve access on Berne Place, Birkenhead.
The changes we're making by May 2026
- Installing no stopping at all times (broken yellow lines) along both sides of Berne Place and around the intersections.
Benefits to your community
- School buses will find it easier to travel through the area, reducing congestion.
- Easier access for residents to get in and out of the street, use their driveways and access their homes. .
- Clear access for emergency services and other large vehicles, such as rubbish trucks.
- Improves visibility for drivers to see oncoming cars, people walking, cycling and crossing the road - making the street safer for everyone.
What happens next
- It will take one day to paint the road marking in good weather conditions.
- We know this may cause some inconvenience, and we will minimise this as much as possible while balancing safety concerns.
- Please remember to park courteously and avoid blocking driveways. Vehicles parked illegally may receive infringement notices or be towed away.
