About the project

We’re making changes to improve safety along the “S bend” near number 187 Access Road, Kumeu.

Two serious loss of control crashes were reported at this bend between 2021 and 2025. To improve safety at this location, we're proposing additional signage and road markings to provide clearer guidance to drivers and encourage safer approach speeds.

We’re committed to making this road safer for all road users and the wider community.

The changes we're proposing

  • Installing an advance curve advance warning signs on the eastbound approach to better guide drivers. An advance curve warning sign is currently provided for the westbound traffic only.
  • Install "SLOW" road markings on both approaches to encourage lower approach speeds.

What happens next

  • Any change tot he plan will be updated on our website.
  • We expect to implement the changes in February 2027.

How to contact us
