We’re pleased to let you know that the Hingaia Road & Pararekau Road, Karaka’s new footpath and crossing improvements were completed in late 2024. 

Thanks so much for your patience while we carried out this work. 

The work we did

This project aimed to improve safety at the intersection for all road users as well as make it easier to walk and cycle. 

Some of the key improvements included:

• Installation of a new footpath 
• Installation of a new crossing at the Hingaia Road/Pararekau Road intersection.
